The stamps of the Cammino di San Nilo
You can request stamps both at the accommodation facilities where you’ll be staying, such as farmhouses or B, and at various other places along the Way (churches, town halls, bars, info points; in some cases, a sign indicates the possibility of getting a stamp). It’s important to remember to stamp your credential at least once a day in order to obtain the Testimonium at the end of the Way.
Among the stamps, an “entire series was handmade by Antonio Tortorella, a historical researcher and member of the” Gazania association, with images inspired by the riches of the territory, particularly the signs of Italo-Greek presence over a wide time span from the “Early Middle Ages to the” Renaissance. Cults, traditions, architectures, frescoes, and place names of clear Byzantine origin are highlighted by quotes and etymologies in Greek.
