The signage
The route is safe and accessible, designed to give everyone the opportunity to walk it, young and old, fit and unfit.
The Cammino di San Nilo was born from the collaboration of organizations and associations to ensure that everyone can traverse it independently. In fact, it is completely mapped, and the signs have been designed to have a low environmental impact.
There are different types of signage. For example, in the town centers along the route, we find stickers with a stylized black monk, while outside the town centers and in rural areas, we find both gold or black painted arrows and dibond arrows measuring 8x15cm, both always featuring the monk symbol of the Cammino di San Nilo.
The signage has been installed throughout the route at a distance of about 300 meters from each other, so if you walk a long stretch of road without seeing any of the signs, you may have taken the wrong path and we advise you to go back to the last sign encountered; if doubts about the direction to take persist, it would be useful to consult the GPS tracks.
Everyone can customize the Path according to their own needs and requirements. The itinerary we have recommended is the result of a study that allows for a daily mileage suitable for everyone, plus the opportunity to take excursions in the Cilento villages crossed.
